[Gil] commands attention; he's a big man with a strong booming voice. He knows how to hold a room and tell a story. I remember he reminisced about football and the drudgery of grass drills he routinely practiced in high school. He segued into his military experience detailing his involvement in a frightening shoot out, and how the grass-drill training had saved his life. I got goose bumps. Most of the audience could relate to grass drills, but I'm not sure anyone could relate to being in a fire fight. That takes a
special speaker. I haven't forgotten that speech. I never will.
Dr. Gilbert prepared and facilitated an exceptional workshop enabling participants to build relationships.
[Gil's] role-modeling and excellent speaking made him someone in whom I have found strength and comfort. His experience as a Warrior and a Family man combine with his credentials to create my unwavering trust. He communicates confidently his first-hand understanding of the challenges Warriors and their Families experience in the military, which enabled me to continue to lead Soldiers and support
Families during the most challenging time of my life—losing Soldiers in during a combat deployment.
Dr. Gilbert’s voice was soothing, yet it commanded my attention, and made me focus on the message. It was as if everything else in the room had faded out. It has been four years, and it is still etched into my mind.
When [Gil] spoke, everyone paid attention. He projected his stories in a way that I and others felt we were with him as they occurred, and his always-positive outcomes to his stories kept our attention. In fact, he still has my attention today: I continue to follow Gil's words on social media.
[Gil] is one of the most energetic and positive speakers I have experienced in my life. He gives his all and brings out the best in his audience and fellow speakers. Great speaker and presenter!!!
